If you’re in the right place, that is.
One industry study recently predicted that nearly 90% of U.S. markets will see a price appreciation over the next year. That’s great news, but not enough to help you make buying and selling decisions.
As the market continues its recovery, buyers and sellers should keep in mind that not all areas are recovering at the same rate. While some parts of Kansas City have already seen houses selling at higher prices and at a quicker pace, other areas lag behind.
When selling your house—and deciding the all-important question of price—the only real estate market that matters is your neighborhood. Market conditions across the state, the county, and even the city are far less important than how houses are selling down the street or around the block. To gauge what a house is worth, and to get an idea of how long it may take to sell, look at what’s happening on the streets immediately surrounding the home.
